India’s Homegrown Multilingual Gen-AI Platform

Seetha MahalaxmiHealthcare (SML) India, a domestic Aritificial Intelligence (AI) company in collaboration with 3AI Holding from Abu Dhabi, has launched the homegrown generative AI platform named “Hanooman”.  The platform is available in 12 Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Sindhi, and a total of 98 global languages which makes it unique from other Generative AI platforms.

As recently stated by Mr. Vishu Vardhan, Co-Founder & CEO of SML India, around 80% of Indians are not well-versed/ familiar with speaking/ understanding English. With Hanooman's ability to support Indian languages, everyone in India will not just have access to generative AI but the platform will also provide massive opportunities for startups and companies. 

Hannoman can handle everything from a casual chat to offering professional advice as well as performing complex technical tasks like coding and tutoring. Within its first year of launch, the platform is expected to reach 200 million users.  As a part of the launch, SML India announced its partnership with Yotta, which will provide stronger graphic processing unit (GPU) cloud infrastructure to the company. And with NASSCOM which will help them achieve its initiatives such as supporting AI startups, fintech innovation, engaging with 3000 colleges, and participating in research programs. 

Additionally, the company has collaborated with the Government of Telangana and the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) to facilitate translation between English and Telugu, enhancing accessibility and understanding of crucial documents such as court orders.
