Tata Advanced Systems Secures a 7.4 lakh sq ft in Karnataka for Aircraft Manufacturing Hub
April 2025
Tata advanced systems limited for subsidiary of Tata sons has acquired 7.4 lakh square feet of land in Karnataka's Vemgal Industrial area to set up a cutting-edge aircraft manufacturing facility. The land, bought at ₹290.34 million at Rs 10.7 million per acre, was secured through a lease-cum-sale agreement with the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB). The transaction was registered on February 24, 2025, with a stamp duty of Rs 10.5 million.
This strategic acquisition marks a significant step in TASL’s expansion plans, aimed at establishing a comprehensive aircraft production unit. The facility will include a final assembly line as well as a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) center to support the India Air Force’s Lockheed Martin C-130J fleet.
Located on the Kolar-Chikkaballapur Road (SH-96), the Vemgal Industrial Area is rapidly evolving into a key industrial zone, bolstered by its proximity to Narasapura and Jakkasandra hubs. TASL’s move is expected to generate employment, attract global partnerships, and enhance India’s aerospace capabilities.
Karnataka’s infrastructure, skilled talent pool, and proactive policies continue to attract major aerospace players, reinforcing its role as a vital contributor to India’s global aerospace ambitions.
