IIOR Hosts Industry Meet to Showcase Innovations in Oilseeds Research

The ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (IIOR) organized an industry meet to introduce stakeholders to the latest innovations in oilseeds research and sustainable crop management. IIOR Director R.K. Mathur emphasized that the event aimed to raise industry’s awareness about advancements in oilseed varieties and bio-based agricultural technologies.

47 industry representatives, 70 startup delegates, and several entrepreneurs from across the country participated in the meeting. Attendees first visited the IIOR campus fields, where scientists showcased high-yielding and hybrid oilseed varieties, along with value-added products derived from oilseeds.

Renowned agricultural expert S.K. Rao addressed the gathering, highlighting the need for sustainable farming solutions. Other speakers, including ICAR-IMMR Director Tara Satyavathi and Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University Vice-Chancellor D. Raji Reddy, stressed the importance of bio-fertilizers, biopolymers, and advanced seed treatment techniques.

The event concluded with the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between IIOR and four startups to facilitate joint research and technology transfer in oilseeds biotechnology. The meeting served as a significant platform for collaboration between scientists, industries, and startups, driving innovation in the oilseeds sector.
