India and the European Union have taken a decisive step toward strengthening clean energy collaboration. The National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) and SolarPower Europe have signed an MoU to advance solar manufacturing, promote joint projects, and streamline policy engagement between the two regions.
This agreement builds on existing cooperation and aligns with SolarPower Europe’s International Solar Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI), which aims to boost upstream technology and equipment production through global partnerships. By combining Europe’s technical expertise with India’s rapidly growing manufacturing ecosystem, the collaboration opens new avenues for investments and innovation in solar energy.
A key focus of the partnership is to establish a diversified and reliable supply chain for solar components, especially considering shifting global trade dynamics. It also emphasizes the need to address regulatory bottlenecks that hinder market access and growth.
“This updated agreement opens up fresh opportunities for European manufacturers, developers, and technology providers,”, said Máté Heisz, Chief Operating Officer at SolarPower Europe.
Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, CEO of NSEFI, added, “This partnership lays the foundation for stronger innovation, cross-border collaboration, and a resilient clean energy future”.
The MoU marks a significant push toward global solar leadership driven by shared goals and complementary strengths.
